Absolute Losers is a post-punk trio based in Charlottetown, PEI. The band writes pop songs hidden beneath wiry guitar work, intertwining bass and drum parts, and nonchalant vocals. Rather than overcompensating, they lean into the thinness of a trio with active interplay between instruments making each part count. The band’s air-tight live show delivers one burst of energy after the next.
Absolute Losers recently released their anticipated debut album “At The Mall,” a danceable 12-track offering that confronts various hardships without taking itself too seriously.
Tooth & the Fang is the folk-rock project of singer/songwriter Geoff Smith, a Saint John-based artist who is known for his intimate storytelling and direct lyricism. Often taking the shape of a collaborative project that features many contributing artists, Tooth & the Fang have participated in Pop Montreal, Halifax Pop Explosion, and the Greville Tapes Music Club.
Balaclava is the long term solo, bedroom, live band, video having, record making, guitar shredding, intimate crooning, feeling screaming project by Saint John NB's Gavin Downes. Having released a number of digital eps, singles, and gener sprawling demo compilations, Balaclava serves as vehicle for experimentation in musical expression and form.
This show will be a rare solo performance and feature old compositions, a few new works in progress, and even a couple non-originals that serve as a road map to the past 10 years dedicated to the craft of songwriting.
